Care Instructions for MOSER Fine Crystal Glass
To ensure the lasting beauty and quality of your crystal glassware, we recommend the following care guidelines:
-
Handwash only: Always wash crystal pieces by hand using lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Avoid dishwashers and harsh chemical cleaners, as these may damage the glass or any decorative elements.
-
Dry with care: Dry immediately with a soft cloth after washing to prevent water spots and preserve the brilliance of the crystal.
-
Mind the detailing: Avoid placing glasses face-down if they feature gold or platinum detailing. Prolonged contact with moisture (such as a damp towel) can cause precious metal accents to wear or peel over time.
-
Handle gently: Handle with care to avoid scratches or chips. Keep crystal away from sharp or hard objects, and take special care with the rim—the most delicate part of the glass.
-
Avoid contact between pieces: Minimize contact between crystal pieces during use or storage to prevent accidental damage.
-
Protect from thermal shock: Avoid sudden temperature changes. Never place crystal in the freezer or expose it to extreme heat or cold, as this can cause cracking.
-
No microwave or oven use: Do not place Moser crystal in the microwave or oven. The crystal is not designed for this use, and doing so could result in irreparable damage.
-
Not for hot beverages: Moser crystal is not suited for hot drinks. The temperature of any beverage served should not exceed 40 °C.
-
Caring for precious metals: At Moser, we use exclusively 24-karat gold and platinum. Oxidation of these metals is a natural process and not a sign of poor quality. Signs of oxidation can be gently removed using a polishing agent designed specifically for precious metals.
-
Repairing scratches: Whether scratches can be repaired depends on the specific product. Thin-walled items like glasses are more difficult to fix, as there isn’t enough crystal thickness to sand. However, decorative objects and thick-walled drinkware can often be sanded or polished to remove scratches, including those on the base.
By following these simple care steps, you’ll preserve the clarity, detail, and elegance of your crystal pieces for generations to come.
